On Monday, Hindu religious education classes were officially launched at Sri Kshetra Sringeri, with the event presided over by Sri Vidushekhara Bharati Swamiji of Sringeri Matha. The classes, named Dharmabhyudaya, aim to preserve and promote the teachings of Hindu Dharma.
In his address, Swamiji emphasized the eternal nature of Hindu Dharma, describing it as “Sanatana” (eternal) and stated that no attempts to destroy it would be successful. He further clarified that when Dharma is under threat, it is not that God steps in directly, but rather the power to defend it lies within the people themselves. Only when humanity fails in this task does God incarnate to protect it, Swamiji remarked.
The inauguration saw the participation of over 2,000 people, including village committee members, Hindu activists, and office bearers from Puttur and Kadaba taluks. They made their way to Sringeri in over 50 buses, starting from the Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple in Puttur.
The event was organized by V. Tejashankara Somayaji, the temple priest, who led the offering of flowers to the seer. Prominent leaders, including Panjegudde Ishwara Bhat, Sitaram Rai Kedambadiguthu, Subrahmanya Nattoja, and others, attended the ceremony.
The newly inaugurated Dharmabhyudaya classes were personally named by the Jagadguru, a significant gesture aimed at preserving Hindu traditions and teachings for future generations.
