The BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi has reopened its doors to devotees from April 14, bringing an end to a temporary closure that lasted nearly 40 days due to regional tensions. The reopening follows confirmation from authorities in the United Arab Emirates that conditions have improved, allowing the resumption of public access to places of worship and restoring normal religious activity in the region.
With the temple now operational again, devotees are once more able to visit for prayers and spiritual practices. However, entry is regulated through a prior registration system, requiring visitors to book their slots through the official website or mobile application. The temple operates from Tuesday to Sunday, between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m., while Mondays remain closed for maintenance and spiritual reflection.
The announcement of reopening was shared by the temple administration, highlighting the return of regular spiritual services and community engagement. The update reflects the temple’s continued role as a place of devotion, peace, and cultural unity for worshippers in the UAE.
Swami Brahmaviharidas, head of the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi, expressed gratitude for the resumption of activities. He described the temple as a space built on service, compassion, and faith, and emphasized its significance as a spiritual home for devotees living in a nation known for harmony and safety.
He also encouraged devotees to visit with faith and hope, highlighting themes of unity, peace, and collective well-being. His message reinforced the temple’s broader vision of fostering understanding and coexistence among communities.
The temple continues its daily rituals, including the popular Ganga Aarti held every evening at 7:30 p.m., with additional sessions on weekends and public holidays. These ceremonies remain a major spiritual attraction for visitors.
Strict guidelines are in place to maintain decorum, including a dress code that requires modest attire covering shoulders and knees. Clothing that is revealing, offensive, or carries political messaging is not permitted within the premises.
Overall, the reopening of the BAPS Hindu Mandir marks a return to regular spiritual life for devotees in Abu Dhabi, reaffirming its role as a symbol of faith, cultural connection, and peaceful coexistence.
