Sunita Kanchinadam has made history by becoming the first woman to serve as president of TiE Boston, marking a major milestone for the entrepreneurship organization in its nearly 30-year journey. She officially assumed the role on July 1 and will serve a two-year term, succeeding former president Purnanand Sarma.
As the new president, Kanchinadam will oversee one of the largest entrepreneurship networks in Massachusetts. TiE Boston plays a key role in supporting startups by bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, business leaders, and mentors throughout the New England region. Kanchinadam is no stranger to the organization. Over the years, she has held several leadership positions, including serving on the board of directors and leading major initiatives such as TiECon East and TiE Women. She currently serves as a managing director at Bank of New York and has built an impressive career through leadership roles at prominent financial institutions, including State Street, Goldman Sachs, and Lehman Brothers.
Her appointment is viewed as an important step toward greater diversity in leadership within the startup and innovation ecosystem.
