More than 1,000 devotees gathered at Old Bridge High School in New Jersey for the annual Guru Purnima Satsang hosted by Shree Santram Bhakta Samaj, USA. The event brought together families and followers from communities across the country for an evening centered on prayer, devotion, music, fellowship and service.
The celebration drew inspiration from the teachings of Shree Santram Mandir in Nadiad, India, particularly the principle of “Janseva,” or service to humanity. The gathering reflected the organization’s efforts to maintain spiritual traditions while creating opportunities for devotees to connect with one another in the United States.
Shree Santram Bhakta Samaj was founded in 1993, with its first Guru Purnima Satsang held in New Jersey that same year. Over the past three decades, the organization has expanded its activities to several major American communities, including Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, Charlotte, California, Boston and Houston.
The program opened with a Mangla Charan Path and a recitation of the Shree Vishnu Sahastranaam Stotram. Pujya Shree Ramdasji Maharaj, the ninth Mahantshree of Shree Santram Mandir in Nadiad, India, inaugurated the opening prayers through an online presentation and offered his blessings to the gathering.
Devotional music formed the heart of the evening, with Raj and Smruti Pandya and their family leading a live Satsang featuring bhajans and religious music. Their performance continued for more than three hours, creating an atmosphere of spiritual reflection and celebration.
A special recognition was also presented to Dr. Rashmiben Vinubhai Desai of California for her devotion and connection to the Santram spiritual tradition. Meenaben Desai and Hemangini Amin presented the honor on behalf of New Jersey devotees.
Beyond religious gatherings, the organization places strong emphasis on community service. Its volunteers have supported free health fairs and screening initiatives covering dental care, vision, flu vaccinations and diabetes. These efforts reflect the belief that spiritual commitment should extend into practical service for the wider community.
The organization holds three major annual celebrations across its centers: Maha Purnima, Guru Purnima and Diwali. Events are supported through voluntary contributions from devotees rather than formal fundraising campaigns.
The evening concluded with Maha Prasad, giving attendees an opportunity to share a meal and strengthen community bonds. Volunteers played a central role in organizing the event, continuing a tradition of service that has sustained the organization for more than three decades.
The next major gathering will be the Diwali Satsang on November 7, 2026, at Old Bridge High School, offering devotees another opportunity to celebrate faith, heritage, fellowship and the spirit of Janseva.
