Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) convened in New Delhi for a high-level meeting to commemorate 12 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government at the Centre. The gathering also marked his milestone as India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister, surpassing the record previously held by Jawaharlal Nehru.
The meeting took place at Bharat Mandapam, where Prime Minister Modi was warmly welcomed and felicitated by BJP national president Nitin Nabin and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who also leads the Telugu Desam Party, a key NDA ally.
Senior Union ministers including Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Health Minister J.P. Nadda, and Union Minister Chirag Paswan attended the session alongside chief ministers from NDA-ruled states. These included leaders from Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, and others, reflecting broad coalition participation.
The agenda of the meeting focused on reviewing the performance of the government over the past 12 years and discussing the alliance’s strategic roadmap for the future. The gathering comes at a significant political moment as the NDA completes more than a decade in power under Modi’s leadership.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi posted a message on social media platform X highlighting the government’s achievements. He said the past 12 years had been dedicated to public trust, development, and welfare, driven by the support of 1.4 billion citizens and the principle of “nation first.”
He further stated that the government had prioritized empowerment of youth, women, and farmers while accelerating development across sectors. According to him, India has witnessed major transformation in infrastructure expansion and digital innovation, which has strengthened the country’s global identity.
Modi added that these efforts have laid the foundation for building a developed India, emphasizing continued commitment to good governance, service delivery, and inclusive growth. He reaffirmed that the government would continue working towards the long-term vision of a self-reliant and prosperous nation.
The NDA meeting underscored both the political significance of Modi’s record tenure and the coalition’s focus on consolidating achievements while planning future policy directions.
