Cricket Australia has announced its Under-19 squad for the Women’s Under-19 Tri-Series, which includes teams from New Zealand and Sri Lanka. The tournament will begin on September 19 in Brisbane, with the Australian team set to compete in both T20 and 50-over formats. Kristen Beams, a former Australian cricketer, will lead the team as head coach. The series features four T20 matches and two one-day games.
The squad boasts notable inclusions of players with Indian heritage: Ribya Syan, Samara Dulvin, and Hasrat Gill. Cricket Australia emphasized that their selection highlights the growing diversity within Australian cricket. “Their presence in the squad reflects the increasing multiculturalism of the sport and the significant role of players with Indian backgrounds,” stated Cricket Australia.
