In a strong retaliatory response to Pakistan’s May 8 drone and missile attacks, the Indian Armed Forces carried out high-precision strikes targeting multiple Pakistani military bases and infiltration routes. The strikes have reportedly razed several terror-linked outposts and created widespread alarm in over 30 Pakistani Army cantonments across Sindh and Punjab.
According to defence sources, India used advanced precision-guided weapon systems to dismantle key Pakistani posts that were being used to support terrorist infiltration into Indian territory. These operations mark a significant counter to Pakistan’s continued aggression and support for cross-border militancy.
The Indian Army, through a public statement issued on Friday morning by the Additional Directorate General of Public Information, confirmed that more than 50 drones launched by Pakistan since the evening of May 8 were neutralised. These drones had been targeting both military installations and civilian areas across India’s western border.
The Army stated that Pakistan carried out several drone attacks and ceasefire breaches along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir during the night of May 8 and early hours of May 9. It added that Indian forces not only intercepted these attacks but also issued a strong and proportionate military reply to Pakistan’s unprovoked actions.
Separately, a major infiltration attempt by Pakistani terrorists was thwarted by the Border Security Force (BSF) in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. Seven terrorists were killed as they tried to breach the International Border under cover fire from Pakistani Rangers stationed at the Dhandhar post.
The Border Security Force detected unusual activity via surveillance systems, leading to increased vigilance along the border. Upon verification, BSF personnel opened fire, effectively eliminating the threat and causing substantial damage to the Pakistani post providing covering fire for the terrorists.
This series of incidents highlights the escalating tensions along the India-Pakistan border, as India reinforces its stance of zero tolerance toward terrorism and cross-border aggression.
