Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized India’s digital transformation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, stating that the nation has evolved into one of the world’s foremost digital economies during Modi’s 11-year tenure.
In a statement shared on X, Shah praised the Modi government for democratizing technology and integrating it into sectors such as healthcare, education, and commerce. He said the Digital India initiative has revolutionized every major aspect of society and the economy, enabling inclusive access to services and strengthening the country’s technological foundation.
He noted that the Modi administration’s strategic push toward technology adoption has created a digital ecosystem that fuels business growth, empowers citizens, and positions India as a global innovation hub.
On Tuesday, Shah also commended the Prime Minister following the Union Cabinet’s approval of two major railway infrastructure projects. These multitracking initiatives span seven districts across Jharkhand, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh, and are projected to catalyze development, improve logistics, and open up significant employment opportunities for local youth.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by PM Modi, sanctioned these Ministry of Railways projects worth approximately $768 million. The enhancements will expand the railway network by nearly 318 kilometers, impacting around 1,408 villages with a combined population exceeding 28.19 million people.
These upgrades are intended to improve transport efficiency, reduce reliance on fuel imports, and lower carbon emissions—all while driving faster, greener economic progress. Shah referred to the move as one that would “turbocharge” state economies and create tangible benefits for both businesses and individuals.
As India moves into a new digital and infrastructural era, these initiatives underscore the Modi government’s vision of sustainable development, inclusive growth, and innovation-led transformation.
