India will take part in the 63rd session of the Commission for Social Development (CSoCD) from February 10-14 in New York, led by Savitri Thakur, Minister of State for Women and Child Development. The session aims to foster global dialogue on social policies and well-being, promoting solidarity, social inclusion, and resilience in response to complex crises.
Minister Savitri Thakur will represent India at the Ministerial Forum on the Priority Theme: “Strengthening Solidarity and Social Cohesion” on February 11. The Indian delegation will actively engage in discussions on key emerging issues, including policies to enhance social resilience and universal rights-based social protection systems.
India will highlight its social development initiatives and policy strategies aimed at building stronger, more inclusive societies. The delegation will also exchange insights with global counterparts to enhance collaboration in addressing social vulnerabilities.
The CSoCD session is expected to accelerate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development while reinforcing the commitments of the Copenhagen Declaration on Social Development. The event follows an informal briefing held on January 9, where global stakeholders discussed key priorities and preparations for the session.
By participating in CSoCD 63, India reaffirms its dedication to advancing social development, strengthening global cooperation, and promoting inclusive policies for a more resilient future.
