In a remarkable display of dedication to Sanskrit, more than 1,400 children and teenagers from the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) recently recited verses from the Satsang Diksha and Siddhant Karika scriptures in the Australian city.
Gathered in large numbers, these young participants showcased their commitment by memorising and reciting 315 verses from the Satsang Diksha and 565 verses from the Siddhant Karika. Their sincere efforts in mastering the Sanskrit language captured the attention of many, highlighting the growing global interest in the ancient tongue.
The BAPS Sanstha has long been a strong advocate for the study and preservation of Sanskrit. With the blessings of Mahant Swami Maharaj and the guidance of BAPS, the significance of Sanskrit continues to gain prominence worldwide.
Mahant Swami Maharaj has consistently emphasized the greatness of Sanskrit, underscoring its role in spiritual and intellectual enrichment. Under his leadership, the study of Sanskrit has become an essential practice for BAPS saints and youth, ensuring that the language remains a cornerstone of the organisation’s teachings.
BAPS is widely recognised not only for its grand temples and devoted saints but also for its commitment to fostering spiritual growth through the preservation of Sanskrit, culture, and sacred scriptures. The organisation firmly believes that Sanskrit is more than just a language—it serves as a pathway to spiritual elevation, mental development, and intellectual refinement.
The benefits of learning Sanskrit extend beyond spirituality. Parents of participating children shared how memorising Sanskrit verses has significantly enhanced their children’s cognitive abilities.
“The children have become more intelligent and focused in their studies. Their memory power and concentration have significantly improved,” they noted, highlighting the positive impact of Sanskrit education on young minds.
BAPS has played a pivotal role in preserving Sanatan values and Hindu traditions across Australia. Through its initiatives, the organisation fosters a spirit of unity, spirituality, and selfless service, ensuring that cultural heritage thrives in contemporary society.
With 13 BAPS temples established in various Australian cities, including Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Canberra, Griffith, Hobart, Melbourne, Melbourne South, Newcastle, Perth, Sunshine Coast, and Sydney, the organisation continues to serve as a beacon of faith and cultural preservation.
