Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit and Expo (BRESE) 2026 on November 2, bringing international energy leaders, investors, manufacturers, and technology specialists together to accelerate the global clean energy transition. Organized by India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), the four-day event will run through November 5 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
Under the theme “Invest. Innovate. Inspire.”, the summit is expected to attract participants from more than 130 countries. It will take place alongside the ninth session of the International Solar Alliance Assembly and the fourth International Conference on Green Hydrogen. Australia, Denmark, the European Union, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom will participate as country partners. Thirteen Indian states will also join as partner states.
The accompanying exhibition will feature more than 400 manufacturers, project developers, technology companies, startups, and research institutions presenting developments in renewable energy.
MNRE Secretary Santosh Sarangi said India had installed 308 gigawatts (GW) of non-fossil fuel energy capacity and remained on track to achieve its 500 GW target by 2030. According to the ministry’s estimates, reaching this goal will require approximately $220 billion in investment between 2027 and 2030. Expanding energy storage, strengthening electricity transmission infrastructure, and increasing domestic manufacturing capacity will be essential to meeting the target.
India currently ranks third worldwide in installed renewable energy and solar capacity and fourth in wind power capacity.
The program will include high-level plenary sessions, ministerial discussions, and chief executive roundtables addressing financing, policy, technology, and workforce development. Business-to-business, business-to-government, and government-to-government meetings will also provide opportunities to develop partnerships, attract investment, and advance renewable energy projects across markets.
