On June 10, 2025, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath declared that India no longer responds to provocation with silence but with decisive action, as exemplified by Operation Sindoor. He underscored that if a war or terror act is imposed on India, the country now retaliates with strength through means such as surgical strikes, air raids, and specialized operations like Sindoor.
Adityanath’s remarks came during a speech marking 11 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He called this era a “golden chapter” in India’s progress toward becoming a fully developed and economically self-sufficient nation. He noted that these years have redefined India’s posture on terrorism and national defense.
Operation Sindoor, which was launched after the deadly April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, symbolized this transformation. More than 26 civilians were killed in that assault, which provoked a strong military response. According to officials, India’s armed forces eliminated over 100 terrorists linked to notorious groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, with strikes targeting camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Yogi criticized earlier governments—particularly those in power before 2014—for maintaining a passive stance on terrorism. He said the approach of always advocating peace, even in the face of repeated aggression, had deeply ingrained itself in India’s foreign policy narrative. However, he stated that under PM Modi, this philosophy has changed, ushering in a “new normal” where India responds assertively and without hesitation.
He also praised Modi’s governance for being transparent and committed to public welfare, free of corruption, nepotism, and appeasement politics. Adityanath emphasized that India’s global reputation has been restored and the nation now commands the trust of its 1.4 billion citizens.
He concluded by reiterating Modi’s vision of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” (One India, Great India), which he believes is being realized through decisive governance, military readiness, and strategic reforms across sectors.
