Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, recently hosted Swami Brahmaviharidas, spiritual head of the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi. The meeting took place in the UAE’s capital and was officially confirmed by BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha through their website.
Their discussion revolved around enhancing mutual understanding and championing universal values such as peace, cultural unity, and harmonious coexistence. Both leaders emphasized that tolerance is a foundational pillar of Emirati society, which hosts over 200 nationalities in an environment defined by safety, diversity, and progress.
The BAPS statement pointed out that this engagement reflects the UAE’s long-standing dedication to fostering peaceful interactions and mutual respect among global communities. With a future-oriented strategy, the UAE aims to remain one of the most desirable countries for living and working, driven by sociocultural inclusion and innovation over the next 50 years.
During the meeting, Swami Brahmaviharidas acknowledged the leadership of President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and presented detailed insights into the temple’s growth and BAPS’s vision for global centers across multiple cities and countries. As a heartfelt gesture, Swami Brahmaviharidas, joined by Swami Aksharatitdas, offered a ‘Crystal Gift of Gratitude’ symbolizing appreciation and reverence for the UAE’s unwavering support in building the Mandir.
Other members of the BAPS delegation included Shri Ashok Kotecha and Pranav Desai. The temple has emerged as a beacon of peace and global unity, aligning with the UAE’s mission to promote cultural inclusivity.
