Actor Rajpal Yadav has opened up about his upcoming film The King of Wonderful World, promising audiences a different cinematic journey that he says they have not witnessed from him over the past several decades.
Speaking about the project, Yadav described The King of Wonderful World as a novel of life structured around 12 chapters. He said the team has been working on the film for several years, with preparations beginning before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Yadav revealed that the project evolved into an Indian culture-focused film after the makers approached him with the proposal. He stressed that the film is intended to be an original work and will not copy scenes or concepts from other films.
The actor also spoke about his admiration for legendary comic actor and filmmaker Charlie Chaplin, whom he considers a major source of inspiration. Yadav recalled being deeply influenced by Chaplin’s The Great Dictator, while emphasising that inspiration does not mean copying another artist’s work.
Yadav said he would dedicate the project to Chaplin, describing him as an important influence on his artistic journey.
While keeping details of the film’s storyline under wraps, the actor revealed that the makers are planning to launch its poster before Diwali.
With its focus on an original narrative, Indian cultural elements and a different creative direction, The King of Wonderful World is expected to mark an interesting addition to Rajpal Yadav’s filmography.
