Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting of the Union Cabinet on Wednesday, where he shared comprehensive details about ‘Operation Sindoor,’ the targeted military strike executed by the Indian defense forces on nine terrorist camps across the border. The operation took place in the early hours of the day and is seen as a strong response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.
During the meeting, PM Modi informed the cabinet that the operation was executed precisely according to plan, with “no mistakes whatsoever.” He emphasized that the mission was carried out with impeccable accuracy by the Indian Army, adhering to every detail that had been meticulously prepared in advance.
Sources revealed that the Prime Minister praised the armed forces for their “commendable job” and the “immaculate execution” of the operation. He highlighted their professionalism, discipline, and unwavering commitment to the country’s national security.
The cabinet ministers expressed their full support for PM Modi’s leadership and lauded the military for their success in carrying out such a critical operation. They conveyed that the entire nation stood united behind the Prime Minister and the armed forces in their relentless fight against terrorism.
The strike, which targeted terror launchpads and camps used for cross-border infiltration, is seen as a decisive message against cross-border terrorism. It marked a significant moment in India’s defense operations, involving a historic tri-services operation carried out by the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. The military precision strikes targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK), responding to the brutal attack on civilians in Pahalgam, where 26 innocent lives were lost on April 22.
PM Modi closely monitored the overnight operation to ensure its success. Indian forces targeted nine locations across Pakistan and PoK, aiming to dismantle terror camps and disrupt operations that had been planning attacks on Indian soil. The strikes, under the codename ‘Operation Sindoor,’ are symbolic, paying tribute to the widows who lost their husbands in the Pahalgam massacre.
On Wednesday, two women officers of the Indian Armed Forces, Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, addressed the media about the details of ‘Operation Sindoor.’ They were accompanied by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri during the press conference. The officers confirmed that the military strikes took place between 1:05 a.m. and 1:30 a.m., based on credible intelligence inputs. Their primary objective was to eliminate and destroy terrorist infrastructure, launchpads, and indoctrination centers operating across the border.
The women officers also provided a detailed account of the operation, emphasizing the careful, measured retaliation taken to strike at the heart of terrorist factories operating from these centers. They underlined the significance of the mission in terms of its impact on the security landscape in the region.
