Praising India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’, which targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), Naseeruddin Chishti, Chairman of the All India Sufi Sajjadanashin Council and son of Ajmer Dargah Diwan Zainul Abedin, stated on Wednesday that this is the face of a “New India” — one that responds through decisive action rather than words.
“The Prime Minister has honoured the emotions of 140 crore Indians by giving a fitting reply to Pakistan in its own language. This is the New India — one that does not react with empty words but with decisions, firm action, and visible outcomes. Today, our martyrs have been given a true tribute,” Chishti said.
He further remarked that the symbol of sindoor (vermilion), which represents dignity and honour in Indian culture, has been repeatedly tarnished by acts of terrorism.
“If our enemies continue to provoke us, the response will be even more severe next time. This step also signifies progress toward the eventual reclamation of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK),” he added.
Discussing the importance of ongoing mock drills, Chishti emphasized that they are more than mere exercises. He described them as a public initiative designed to educate citizens on how to support government efforts, protect themselves, and remain composed in times of emergency or conflict. Currently, Ajmer is on high alert, with mock drills scheduled across the city on Wednesday to instruct residents on safety protocols in the event of a crisis.
Civil Defence officials stated that these exercises will include training on how to respond to emergency sirens, manage blackout situations, and carry out evacuation procedures.
Civil Defence in-charge Prashant Jha confirmed that response teams will be positioned in busy public areas like schools and marketplaces to conduct live training sessions for both the staff and the general public.
In view of heightened security concerns, all civilian flights from Kishangarh Airport have been suspended for three days starting Wednesday. According to the airport administration, flight operations will resume only after 5:29 a.m. on May 10.
The temporary suspension of flights has been described as a precautionary measure in light of recent developments. Following the successful execution of ‘Operation Sindoor’, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers gathered at the Vijay Smarak in Ajmer to celebrate. The celebration included waving the Indian National Flag and lighting fireworks.
Among those present at the event were Ajmer City District BJP President Ramesh Soni and other senior party members.
