Prime Minister Narendra Modi has issued a call to action, urging both institutions and individuals to collaborate in propelling India into a developed nation by 2047. The launch of the Viksit Bharat @2047 initiative marked the commencement of this transformative endeavor, with Modi highlighting the current opportune moment for a significant leap in India’s trajectory. Reflecting on the historical significance, he urged all entities to contribute to this vision, drawing inspiration from the era of the freedom struggle.
Modi emphasized the need for a collective effort, echoing the spirit of the freedom movement that gave rise to institutions like Visva Bharati and Gujarat Vidyapeeth. He urged present-day institutions and individuals to align their goals with the singular objective of a developed India. Calling on teachers and universities, Modi challenged them to explore ways to expedite India’s development and pinpoint specific sectors for enhancement.
Underlining the urgency of the task at hand, Modi declared a 25-year period, termed Amrit Kaal, during which every citizen must actively work towards the goal of Viksit Bharat. He highlighted the pivotal role of the youth, recognizing India’s forthcoming leadership in the working-age population for the next few decades. Emphasizing the transformative potential of the youth, Modi underscored their role as both agents and beneficiaries of change.
Modi envisioned the next 25 years as decisive for today’s youth, who would play a vital role in shaping families, society, and the future of a developed India. He emphasized that the government alone would not dictate the roadmap; rather, it would be a collective effort where every citizen actively participates. Referring to successful initiatives like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Digital India, Modi illustrated the power of collective action in achieving significant milestones.
In line with fostering a sense of national duty and civic responsibility, Modi called for the creation of an “amrit generation.” Beyond education and skills, he stressed the importance of cultivating a civic sense and an unwavering commitment to national interests. Modi urged educators to contribute ideas for boosting initiatives like the Clean India Mission and encouraged the youth to explore beyond mobile phones. He called for educationists to serve as role models for students and advocated for individuals to possess at least one vocational skill alongside their academic degrees.
