
A 15-member Indian parliamentary delegation was honored at a special luncheon in Manhattan, bringing together Indian parliamentarians, community leaders, business representatives and members of the media to discuss stronger connections between India and the Indian-American community.
The event was organized by the Alliance Indus Foundation in partnership with World Vegan Vision to welcome lawmakers representing both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. The delegation was led by C. P. Joshi, Member of Parliament from Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, and Chairperson of the Lok Sabha Committee on Petitions.
More than 100 guests attended the gathering, which focused on diplomatic exchange, community networking and cultural engagement. Discussions addressed issues important to the Indian diaspora, including Aadhaar access, the possibility of dual citizenship, diaspora philanthropy, knowledge sharing and opportunities for young people to contribute to India’s development.
Economic ties between India and the United States also featured prominently, with participants discussing cross-border financial partnerships and trade opportunities. Community representatives highlighted the role of Indian Americans in strengthening relations between the two countries.
The gathering also featured participation from civic, healthcare, media and cultural representatives. Speakers emphasized the longstanding relationship between New York City and the Indian diaspora and welcomed the visiting parliamentarians.
The luncheon provided a platform for continued dialogue between Indian lawmakers and the diaspora, underscoring the community’s growing role in supporting cultural, economic and diplomatic ties between India and the United States.
