India has reiterated its commitment to strengthening its Special Strategic Partnership with Israel during a diplomatic interaction held on the sidelines of Israel’s 78th Independence Day celebrations. India’s Ambassador to Israel, J.P. Singh, met Israeli President Isaac Herzog at an official event, where he conveyed warm greetings from India’s leadership and reaffirmed New Delhi’s dedication to deepening bilateral cooperation.
According to a statement shared by the Indian Embassy in Israel on social media, the ambassador extended best wishes to the Israeli President on behalf of the Indian government and emphasized that the partnership between the two countries continues to grow across multiple sectors. The interaction highlighted the ongoing efforts by both nations to expand their strategic engagement.
Separately, President Droupadi Murmu also extended greetings to President Herzog on the occasion, noting that the India-Israel Special Strategic Partnership has continued to strengthen over time. She emphasized that the relationship is rooted in shared values, mutual trust, and a common commitment to peace, innovation, and development.
In response, President Herzog expressed appreciation for India’s goodwill and underlined Israel’s strong commitment to further expanding cooperation with India. He stated that both nations are actively working to enhance collaboration across a wide range of fields, reinforcing their long-standing friendship.
The diplomatic exchanges come amid broader regional discussions involving West Asia. Earlier, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar held a telephone conversation with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, where they reviewed key geopolitical developments, including tensions in the region and maritime security concerns.
During their discussion, the Israeli side emphasized the importance of international efforts to prevent nuclear escalation and highlighted concerns related to security in critical waterways such as the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global energy route responsible for a significant share of international oil transport.
The talks also addressed wider regional stability issues, including developments in Iran and Lebanon, reflecting ongoing concerns over security and economic stability in West Asia.
Overall, the recent diplomatic engagements underline the continued momentum in India-Israel relations, with both sides focusing on expanding cooperation while also addressing shared concerns related to regional security, energy routes, and global stability.
