Indian American Impact has congratulated six candidates endorsed by the organization following their victories in congressional races across the United States, highlighting the growing representation of Indian Americans in national politics.
The winners include incumbent Representatives Ami Bera of California, Pramila Jayapal of Washington, Ro Khanna of California and Suhas Subramanyam of Virginia, who secured reelection. Pia Dandiya of Florida and Dr. Amish Shah of Arizona won their first congressional elections.
Shah will become the first Indian American to represent Arizona in Congress, while Dandiya will make history as the first Indian American to represent Florida.
The organization invested and mobilized more than $625,000 in congressional races during the election cycle.
Indian American Impact Executive Director Chintan Patel said the victories reflected the growing political influence and representation of Indian American communities. He highlighted the candidates’ stated priorities, including reducing costs for working families, expanding healthcare access and protecting immigrant communities.
Patel also emphasized the importance of political representation amid concerns about rising hate against minority communities, expressing the organization’s commitment to working with the newly elected lawmakers.
Founded in 2016, Indian American Impact has endorsed and supported more than 200 candidates nationwide. Through political investments, grassroots organizing, voter mobilization and policy advocacy, the organization has directed more than $20 million toward supporting candidates and strengthening Indian and South Asian American participation in the US political process.
