India and Israel have taken another step toward strengthening their technological partnership by exploring new avenues of cooperation in Artificial Intelligence. The discussions focused on innovation-driven collaboration, emerging technologies, and opportunities to build stronger digital ecosystems between the two countries.
The engagement took place in Tel Aviv between India’s Ambassador to Israel, JP Singh, and Erez Askal, Head of Israel’s National AI Directorate. Both sides exchanged views on how Artificial Intelligence can be leveraged to enhance economic growth, improve public services, and foster innovation-led development. The talks also emphasized the importance of building long-term partnerships that benefit both nations.
According to the Indian Embassy in Israel, the meeting highlighted shared priorities in advancing AI applications across multiple sectors. These include research, innovation frameworks, and public-private partnerships aimed at supporting sustainable technological progress. Officials from both countries also discussed the need to encourage ethical AI development and ensure responsible use of emerging technologies.
The latest discussions build on earlier agreements signed during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Israel in February. During that visit, India and Israel signed a Memorandum of Understanding focused on cooperation in Artificial Intelligence. The agreement aims to strengthen collaboration in AI development, capacity building, academic research, and the promotion of ethical and inclusive technology practices.
Another agreement signed during the visit focused on integrating Artificial Intelligence into the education sector. This initiative aims to promote AI-powered learning systems, improve teacher training, enhance digital literacy, and develop inclusive educational tools. Both countries expressed interest in using technology to build future-ready education systems that are accessible and effective.
India and Israel elevated their relationship to a Special Strategic Partnership during high-level discussions between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Since then, both nations have continued to expand cooperation across various fields, including defense, agriculture, cybersecurity, and digital innovation.
Further strengthening diplomatic ties, India’s President Droupadi Murmu extended greetings to Israel on its 78th Independence Day, reaffirming the growing friendship between the two countries. In response, Israeli President Isaac Herzog acknowledged the strong bilateral relationship and expressed commitment to deepening cooperation across multiple sectors.
The latest AI-focused dialogue reflects the ongoing momentum in India-Israel relations, with both countries increasingly prioritizing technology, innovation, and knowledge sharing as key pillars of their strategic partnership.
