The honor recognizes Mishra’s significant contributions to strengthening the business ties between London and India. Nominated by Chris Hayword and Shravan Joshi, Mishra’s efforts in uniting key business stakeholders in the UK and Indian markets have been commended for enhancing the relationship between the two nations.
Ajit Mishra, a dual-qualified lawyer and British solicitor, boasts a notable career as a senior partner in various leading Indian and international law firms, specializing in mergers and acquisitions with a focus on the Indian market. A graduate of Delhi University and Queen Mary University of London, Mishra also serves as the special economic advisor to the City of Magdeburg (Germany) and chairs the Commercial of Law Studies at Queen Mary University. His achievements extend to being the chairman of the Indian CEO’s Forum.
The Freedom of the City of London Award, with origins dating back to the 13th century, is conferred upon individuals making outstanding contributions to the city. Past recipients include influential figures across various fields, such as political leaders Jawahar Lal Nehru, Winston Churchill, Margaret Thatcher, Lee Kuan Yew, and Nelson Mandela. Noteworthy awardees also encompass thought and business leaders like Bill Gates, Sir Roger Penrose, Ed Sheeran, Dame Sarah Gilbert, Harry Kane, Sajid Mahmood, and Ebony Rainford-Brent.
