Duos Technologies Group has appointed Dipan Patel as its chief operating officer as the Jacksonville, Florida-based company moves to expand its modular edge data center and AI computing operations across the United States. Patel takes on the position immediately and will report to CEO Doug Recker.
In his new role, Patel will oversee the nationwide deployment of Duos’ Edge AI data centers and GPU-as-a-Service platforms. He will also work with the company’s leadership team to strengthen its operational capabilities and support the planned expansion of its infrastructure footprint.
The appointment comes as the rapid growth of artificial intelligence continues to increase demand for computing capacity. Duos is pursuing a distributed approach through modular edge data centers that bring computing resources closer to businesses and customers. Its facilities are designed to handle high-power AI and enterprise workloads, including deployments in Tier 3 and Tier 4 markets.
Duos provides modular data center colocation and infrastructure solutions through its Duos Edge AI and Duos Technology Solutions subsidiaries. The company is also expanding its broader infrastructure business through manufacturer-agnostic equipment sourcing and fulfillment services for data centers and IT environments.
Patel brings extensive experience in data centers, telecommunications, fiber networks, and technology services. Most recently, he served as a Digital Infrastructure Solutions Executive at Telstra InfraCo, where he worked on product strategy, solution development, and commercial monetization across a national infrastructure portfolio valued at more than $25 billion. The portfolio included data centers, fiber networks, exchange facilities, and critical communications infrastructure.
Previously, Patel was executive vice president of strategy, technology, and new business initiatives at SBA Communications Corporation. He established the company’s corporate growth division and led investments involving data centers, power solutions, and open-access fiber networks. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions at Cox Communications and Accenture.
Recker said Patel’s combination of infrastructure, technology, and operational leadership experience directly supports Duos’ next phase of growth. Patel said the expanding use of AI is driving a major infrastructure buildout and expressed his intention to help scale operations and increase the company’s national presence.
Patel holds a PhD in Digital Communications and a BEng in Information Systems Engineering from Imperial College London. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and holds 12 granted US and international patents.
With AI workloads increasing demand for power-intensive computing, Duos is positioning modular infrastructure as a faster way to add capacity in markets where traditional data center development can be challenging. Patel will play a central role in turning that strategy into scalable deployments across the country.
