Fans waiting for the next chapter of Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal franchise may have to wait a little longer, with filming for Animal Park expected to begin toward the end of 2027. Pranay Reddy Vanga, the brother of filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga, has revealed that the team plans to take a six-month break after the release of Spirit before beginning production on the much-anticipated sequel.
Speaking in a recent interview with NTV Telugu, Pranay said the filmmakers intend to start work on Animal Park approximately six months after Spirit reaches theaters. Spirit, starring Prabhas, is currently scheduled for release on March 5, 2027. If the planned timeline remains unchanged, production on Animal Park could begin in late 2027.
The schedule will also depend heavily on Ranbir Kapoor’s commitments. The actor has several major projects lined up over the coming months, including Ramayana Part 1, which is scheduled for release during Diwali this year. He will also be involved in promoting Ramayana Part 2, planned around Diwali 2027.
Kapoor is additionally expected to appear in Love and War alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, with the film anticipated to arrive in early 2027. Another major project, Brahmastra 2: Dev, is expected to begin filming around the middle of 2027, making the actor’s schedule particularly demanding.
Animal Park is expected to continue the story established in Animal, which became a major commercial success. Kapoor had previously revealed that Sandeep Reddy Vanga had already developed ideas for the sequel while working on the first film. The upcoming installment is expected to pick up from the events of Animal rather than presenting an unrelated storyline.
One of the biggest attractions for audiences is Kapoor’s reported double role. The actor has previously indicated that he will portray two characters in Animal Park, creating the possibility of a more intense confrontation and a complex relationship between the two figures.
The sequel is therefore expected to expand the world and themes introduced in Animal while taking its central conflict in a new direction. With Sandeep Reddy Vanga returning as filmmaker and Ranbir Kapoor leading the cast, expectations surrounding Animal Park remain high as audiences await further details about its story and production.
