Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the sacred structure ‘Panchjanya’ in Kurukshetra, a symbolic tribute to the divine conch of Lord Krishna, marking another significant moment in India’s cultural and spiritual revival. The ceremony highlighted the deep civilisational roots of the historic city, long revered as the land of the Mahabharata and a cornerstone of Hindu philosophy.
During his visit, the Prime Minister toured the Mahabharata Anubhav Kendra, a cultural institution designed to offer immersive insights into the epic’s timeless teachings. The initiative is expected to attract pilgrims and scholars alike, strengthening Kurukshetra’s position as a global spiritual destination.
The visit also underscored the legacy of Guru Tegh Bahadur, whose sacrifice for the protection of faith and humanity remains a guiding light for the nation. The commemoration of his martyrdom served as a reminder of India’s pluralistic ethos and the values embedded in its spiritual traditions.
By participating in the International Gita Mahotsav and associated rituals, the Prime Minister reinforced the government’s commitment to preserving and promoting India’s ancient heritage. The unveiling of Panchjanya stands not only as a religious tribute but as a symbol of cultural continuity, linking modern India with its profound historical and philosophical lineage.
Kurukshetra, already steeped in mythological and historical significance, is poised to see renewed interest from devotees, tourists, and cultural enthusiasts. The event reflects a broader narrative of spiritual resurgence, where faith, history, and national identity converge to shape the evolving cultural landscape of the country.
