In a sudden turn of events, Pakistan violated the ceasefire agreement just hours after both countries publicly committed to a truce along the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border. The violations took place on Saturday across several sectors, disrupting a brief moment of peace and stability in the region.
According to official sources, the Border Security Force (BSF) has been instructed to retaliate decisively against any hostile moves from across the border. The breach came shortly after India formally announced that a ceasefire understanding had been reached, a decision that Pakistan confirmed as well.
Despite the diplomatic exchange, multiple explosions were reported in Srinagar, prompting authorities to enforce a sudden blackout across the city. Similar measures were implemented in Baramulla, where a drone was successfully shot down. Another drone was intercepted over Pokhran in Rajasthan, indicating coordinated aerial intrusions.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani Army unleashed artillery fire along key locations at the International Border, including Akhnoor, RS Pura, and Rajouri. Additional ceasefire breaches were recorded along the LoC, particularly in the Palanwalla sector of Jammu.
In Baramulla, the situation escalated further with drone sightings and increased aerial surveillance. Residents in Srinagar and Baramulla faced power outages as authorities responded to the ongoing threats. Rajouri also reported drone activity, while air raid sirens sounded in the Samba district, intensifying public anxiety.
The surprise aggression from Pakistan has drawn criticism and confusion, particularly after the fresh commitment to peace. “What the hell just happened to the ceasefire? Explosions heard across Srinagar!!!” tweeted Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, reflecting widespread frustration and concern over the abrupt shift in border dynamics.
With tensions flaring once again, Indian security forces remain on high alert, prepared to respond robustly to any further violations.
