The much-anticipated historical epic Kesari Veer: Legends of Somnath, starring Suniel Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, and Sooraj Pancholi, has generated significant excitement following the release of its trailer. However, eager audiences will have to wait a bit longer to witness the grand tale unfold on the big screen, as the film’s release has been officially postponed from May 16 to May 23, 2025.
Announcing the updated release date on social media, the filmmakers wrote, “See you in the theatres on 23rd May 2025…. Har Har Mahadev… Releasing Worldwide in Cinemas on 23rd May, 2025.” While the delay has been confirmed, the producers have not disclosed the specific reason behind the rescheduling.
The film’s trailer has already stirred enthusiasm among audiences, thanks to its gripping depiction of valiant warriors defending the sacred Somnath temple from foreign invaders during the 14th century. In the lead role, Suniel Shetty portrays the fearless warrior Vegda Ji, while Sooraj Pancholi plays the heroic but lesser-known Veer Hamirji Gohil.
Making her cinematic debut, Akanksha Sharma brings emotional depth and strength to the role of Rajal, whose character shares a heartfelt romantic arc with Pancholi’s Hamirji. The film’s antagonist, Zafar—a character driven by the intent of forced religious conversions—is powerfully brought to life by Vivek Oberoi.
Speaking about his experience working with Shetty, Sooraj Pancholi expressed his admiration and gratitude. “I’ve always looked up to Suniel Sir as a screen idol, and to have had the opportunity to work with him on Kesari Veer was a dream come true. He’s not only an exceptional actor but also an inspiring mentor who has guided me throughout my career,” Pancholi said.
Directed by Prince Dhiman and produced by Kanubhai Chauhan under the Chauhan Studios banner, Kesari Veer brings together an engaging cast and promises a rich mix of action, drama, and patriotic fervor. The film is being presented by Panorama Studios and is now officially scheduled for a global theatrical release on May 23, 2025.
