The attack claimed the lives of 26 people, mostly tourists, and injured many more, sending shockwaves across the country.
Beginning his speech with a heartfelt tribute, PM Modi asked the crowd to join him in a moment of silence for the victims. He expressed deep sorrow and solidarity with the grieving families, noting that the pain of this tragedy is felt across every corner of the country, from Kargil to Kanyakumari.
Calling the attack not just a strike on innocent lives but an assault on the soul of India, the Prime Minister delivered a bold and resolute message: those responsible for orchestrating and supporting terrorism will face consequences far greater than they anticipate. He vowed to locate the perpetrators, pursue them relentlessly, and ensure they face justice.
Emphasizing national unity, PM Modi said the diverse backgrounds of the victims, ranging from Bengali to Kannada, Marathi, Odia, Gujarati, and Bihari, symbolize how this act of violence has wounded the entire nation. He assured the public that India’s spirit remains unshaken and that terrorism will never succeed in breaking the country’s resolve.
The Prime Minister also acknowledged the international support India has received in the wake of the attack and thanked global allies for standing in solidarity.
