Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Monday celebrated India’s growth, highlighting the nation’s strength in speed, scale, and determination, all while staying connected to its rich cultural heritage. Speaking at the inaugural session of the 29th Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Partnership Summit 2024 in Delhi, Goyal emphasized India’s commitment to both progress and innovation.
He also addressed the shared global challenges, calling for a collective effort toward sustainability and environmental protection. Goyal emphasized that while the Global South and less-developed nations are not the main contributors to environmental degradation, they must play an active role in building sustainable solutions. He proposed a fair approach, where responsibility for environmental issues should be allocated based on each nation’s contribution to the problem.
In his address, Goyal creatively outlined the essence of the summit using the acronym “SPACE” to symbolize the launch of a new collaborative era. ‘S’ for Synergy (One Earth, One Family), ‘P’ for Partnership (Productive partners, peaceful coexistence), ‘A’ for Alignment (Aligning actions), ‘C’ for Common Good (For the benefit of all), and ‘E’ for Engagement.
The summit, which gathers 61 countries, 30 global speakers, and 11 international ministers, is focusing on discussions around resilient supply chains, sustainability, green technologies, AI, gender equality, and strategic growth initiatives. The goal is to foster global cooperation, ensuring a shared vision for a sustainable and prosperous future.
