When Alia Bhatt first met Ranbir Kapoor at the age of nine for a photoshoot related to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film *Balika Vadhu*, neither could have predicted the future. Though the film was never made, their paths would cross again. Years later, Bhatt, who had often spoken about her admiration for Kapoor, would eventually fall in love with him. The two, who married in April 2022 after a four-year relationship, are now parents to their daughter, Raha Kapoor, who has become a favorite of the media.
In a recent podcast interview with Nikhil Kamath on *People WTF*, Ranbir Kapoor shared intimate details about his relationship with Alia. He described their bond as deeply rooted in friendship, with moments of shared laughter and casual chats defining their romance. Ranbir Kapoor expressed his gratitude for marrying his best friend, highlighting how they can openly talk, laugh, and share their feelings. He noted that Alia, who is eleven years his junior, adds vibrant energy to his life.
Kapoor reflected on their early interactions, noting that he first met Alia while assisting Sanjay Leela Bhansali on *Black*. The photoshoot they did together remained a memorable moment for him. “From the start, I knew Alia was special,” Kapoor recalled. “I have always admired her as an actor and as a person.”
He expressed how Alia’s presence makes him feel at ease and brings joy to his life. “While I love going on holidays with her, I equally cherish coming home to her,” he said. Kapoor praised Alia for her ambition, intelligence, and dedication to her work, acknowledging that he had to make significant efforts to win her attention. He acknowledged that Alia has made significant efforts to adjust to him, and he needs to do the same in return.
Kapoor also reflected on how Alia’s calming influence has helped him deal with insecurities, especially in their parenting role. He noted that her efforts to adapt her naturally loud tone—something that unsettled him due to his father Rishi Kapoor’s loud voice—demonstrate the sacrifices they have made for each other. “Marriage requires letting go of certain aspects of your personality and making adjustments,” Kapoor said. “Both of us are adapting to ensure our relationship thrives, which is essential for any successful marriage.”
