Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again achieved the highest global leader approval rating, securing an impressive 76 percent in a survey conducted by Morning Consult, a US-based consultancy firm. The ‘Global Leader Approval Rating Tracker’ indicates that 76 percent of Indians approve of PM Modi’s leadership, while 18 percent disapprove, with 6 percent withholding an opinion. These ratings, collected from November 29 to December 5, 2023, serve as a substantial boost for Modi and the BJP, especially as they approach the general elections in 2024, seeking a third consecutive term.
Morning Consult calculates approval ratings based on a seven-day moving average of adult residents in each country, with sample sizes varying. Modi’s exceptional rating significantly surpasses other global leaders, with Mexico President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador at 66 percent and Switzerland President Alain Berset at 58 percent. Italy’s Georgia Meloni holds a 41 percent approval rating.
This continued high approval rating for Prime Minister Modi is noteworthy and reinforces his consistent global leadership standing. In contrast, other prominent global leaders have more modest approval levels, highlighting Modi’s exceptional popularity.
