According to CII research published in Toronto, Indian businesses have spent more than CAD 6.6 billion in Canada, generating thousands of jobs, and all of them want to increase their investments in the future.
The first known attempt to document the Indian industry’s expanding presence in Canada was the study “From India to Canada: Economic Impact and Engagement,” which was released by Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal during his visit to the city.
After sampling as many as 30 Canadian businesses, the surveyor collected data. In the following five years, all corporations who responded claimed they would boost their investments in Canada.
The poll discovered Indian businesses operating in eight of Canada’s 10 provinces in a variety of industry areas, with the biggest concentration of responding businesses being in Ontario and Quebec.
“Canada has a large investible surplus and is looking for good investment opportunities in India. Given the greater degree of engagement we’ve now embarked upon with high-level exchanges on both sides, the India-Canada economic relationship can improve very significantly,” Goyal said at the report launch event.
According to Mary Ng, Canada’s Minister of International Trade, expanding the Canada-India economic alliance benefits companies on both sides of the Pacific. The study demonstrates the advantages of cooperation.
