The Seva Sankalp Yatra, organised to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years of public service as the head of government, will culminate on October 7 with simultaneous closing ceremonies in Vadnagar and Varanasi.
The Yatra, which began on September 17, has travelled across different parts of the country carrying the message of Seva, Sankalp and social responsibility inspired by Modi’s public service journey. The concluding programmes are expected to bring together thousands of Seva Yatris, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha workers and young citizens at two locations closely associated with the Prime Minister’s life and public journey.
In Varanasi, the Seva Yatris will conclude their journey with Jalabhishek at the Kashi Vishwanath Dham, seeking the blessings of Baba Vishwanath. A large gathering of youngsters and Seva Yatris is expected to attend the closing ceremony.
BJP National President Nitin Nabin, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and BJYM National President Hemang Joshi will address the gathering. Their addresses are expected to focus on the role of Seva in public life and the significance of Modi’s 25-year journey in public service.
In Vadnagar, the concluding programme will be held at the historic Hatkeshwar Mahadev Mandir, a location of special significance in the Prime Minister’s life. Seva Yatris will offer Jal Abhishek at the temple before formally concluding their journey with prayers and a renewed commitment to public service.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi and BJP All Cells Coordinator VD Sharma will participate in the Vadnagar programme and address the gathering.
The simultaneous ceremonies in Vadnagar and Varanasi are intended to symbolise the journey coming full circle, connecting Vadnagar, where Modi’s early life and political journey began, with Varanasi, which has become central to his parliamentary and spiritual association with the people.
Throughout its journey, the Seva Sankalp Yatra has sought to turn the commemoration of 25 years of public service into a broader campaign encouraging young people to participate in social initiatives. Activities undertaken during the Yatra have included cleanliness drives, tree plantation, water conservation, Gau Seva, service at old-age homes and interactions with beneficiaries.
The concluding ceremonies are expected to reinforce the message of social responsibility and encourage participating youth and party workers to continue community-oriented activities. The organisers have positioned the culmination not simply as the end of the Yatra, but as a renewed commitment to Seva and nation-building inspired by Modi’s 25-year public service journey.
