Sujit Singh received a prestigious recognition at a recent spiritual gathering hosted by the Hindu American Temple and Cultural Center (HATCC), also known as the Sri Guruvaayoorappan Temple, commonly referred to as the Shri Krishna Temple. Founded in 1988, the nonprofit temple serves as a central hub for spiritual, cultural, and community activities across New Jersey.
Singh was honored for more than a decade of dedicated service to over 600 residents with disabilities and their families. His efforts have focused on enhancing quality of life, promoting inclusion, and strengthening support systems for caregivers. Through his work, Singh has become a respected figure in the community for fostering compassion and resilience.
A memorable moment of the evening was receiving blessings from Dharmatma Dr. S. Yegnasubramanian, a distinguished former scientist from the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre and Bell Labs, renowned for his profound knowledge of the Vedas and Puranas. Singh expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity, citing Dr. Yegnasubramanian’s lifelong commitment to both scientific achievement and community service as a source of inspiration.
Reflecting on his recognition, Singh said, “Our community work reflects compassion, resilience, and shared responsibility. Supporting families and individuals with disabilities is essential to building an inclusive and caring society.”
The event also featured a devotional performance by celebrated bhajan singer Anup Jalota, whose music created a spiritually uplifting atmosphere for attendees. Singh reiterated his dedication to advancing dignity, inclusion, and a higher quality of life for individuals and families throughout New Jersey, underlining the continued impact of his community-driven initiatives.
