India has reiterated its consistent support for efforts aimed at promoting peace, stability and dialogue in West Asia, while confirming that it is examining an invitation from the United States to join the newly formed Gaza Board of Peace.
The Ministry of External Affairs stated that India has received the invitation and is currently reviewing the proposal. The first session of the US-backed initiative is scheduled soon and aims to establish a pathway toward long-term peace, reconstruction and economic revival in Gaza.
The Board of Peace initiative seeks to facilitate post-conflict stabilisation by reopening crossings, encouraging demilitarisation of armed groups and laying the foundation for sustained economic rebuilding. The effort is being positioned as a transition from conflict to reconstruction in the region.
India has consistently maintained that dialogue and diplomacy remain essential for achieving sustainable peace in West Asia. Officials emphasised that New Delhi supports initiatives that contribute to regional stability and long-term solutions.
The development follows recent high-level engagement between Indian and US leadership, during which broader issues of global peace and cooperation were discussed. India has underlined the importance of constructive international efforts that foster stability and economic recovery in conflict-affected regions.
India’s potential participation in the initiative reflects its growing diplomatic role in global peace processes and its broader engagement in West Asia. As geopolitical dynamics evolve, New Delhi continues to balance strategic autonomy with proactive international cooperation.
The government’s final decision on joining the Board of Peace is expected after internal consultations, but India’s stated position underscores its continued commitment to supporting peaceful resolutions and sustainable development in the region.
