Roblox Corporation (NYSE: RBLX), a global platform for immersive gaming and digital creation, has named Naveen Chopra as its next Chief Financial Officer, effective June 30, 2025. With over 25 years of experience, Chopra is expected to bring strategic financial leadership and deep operational insight as Roblox continues its global expansion in the tech-entertainment space.
In his new role, Chopra will lead all aspects of Roblox’s financial ecosystem—including accounting, treasury, internal audit, investor relations, financial planning and analysis, and business operations. His track record of scaling high-growth tech companies and guiding entertainment businesses through major transitions is seen as a major asset to Roblox’s growth trajectory.
Sharing his enthusiasm, Chopra said he is excited to join a company that seamlessly blends entertainment, technology, and community. He highlighted the potential of Roblox’s platform to create value across its vast user base, while maintaining a commitment to safety and civility. He emphasized that this role allows him to merge his love for transformative consumer platforms with his deep-rooted finance experience.
Chopra has served in senior financial roles at some of the world’s biggest companies. At Paramount, as EVP and CFO, he led the transition from traditional media to digital-first models, steering the company toward significant revenue from subscription and ad-supported streaming—now making up over a quarter of total earnings.
During his tenure at Amazon, he handled the finances of the Devices and Services division, contributing to innovations such as Alexa, Fire TV, Kindle, Ring, and Project Kuiper. Previously, he held CFO roles at both Pandora and TiVo and currently serves on the board of directors at Macy’s Inc. He earned both his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Economics and his MBA from Stanford University.
Roblox CEO and co-founder David Baszucki praised Chopra’s background, noting that his financial expertise, coupled with his engineering roots, make him the ideal person to align the company’s innovation efforts with strategic financial planning.
Chopra will be stepping into the position previously held by Michael Guthrie, who had announced his intent to step down to pursue personal endeavors. Guthrie’s transition opens the door for Chopra to guide Roblox through its next phase of innovation and global engagement.
