On Tuesday evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted the members of the all-party delegations involved in Operation Sindoor at his official residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg in New Delhi. These delegations were formed to represent India’s stance on terrorism and Pakistan’s involvement in cross-border attacks on international platforms.
Taking to social media, PM Modi expressed his admiration for the 59 members who participated in the diplomatic mission. He commended their articulate representation of India’s commitment to global peace and their efforts in confronting the threat of terrorism. “We are all proud of the way they voiced India’s position to the world,” he posted.
Seven delegations — each consisting of lawmakers from across party lines — traveled to a total of 33 countries, including influential regions such as the European Union. Their primary objective was to communicate India’s firm response following the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which tragically killed 26 people, many of them tourists.
Led by a diverse set of leaders, including Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, BJP’s Ravi Shankar Prasad and Baijayant Panda, JD(U)’s Sanjay Jha, DMK’s Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, NCP’s Supriya Sule, and Shiv Sena’s Shrikant Shinde, the delegations engaged with global leaders, lawmakers, and think tanks. They emphasized India’s zero-tolerance stance on terrorism and the urgent need for international cooperation against state-sponsored extremism.
Former Union Ministers Ghulam Nabi Azad and Salman Khurshid were also part of the mission. The delegations not only condemned Pakistan’s support for terror groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed but also advocated for placing Pakistan back on the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list.
The MPs shared their on-ground diplomatic experiences with Prime Minister Modi during the meeting, which was seen as a powerful display of bipartisan unity in foreign policy. Operation Sindoor, conducted on May 7, marked one of India’s most precise military counterattacks. Within 25 minutes, Indian forces neutralized over 100 terrorists and struck multiple terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoJK).
The meeting signified India’s growing focus on diplomacy backed by decisive military action, reinforcing a global message that terrorism will be met with swift and strategic resistance.
