As we age, it becomes increasingly difficult to recall all our treasured memories. Advait Paliwal, an Indian-origin entrepreneur, has introduced a groundbreaking solution to this challenge with his latest creation, Iris. This wearable device, powered by artificial intelligence, captures a photo every minute, automatically labeling and arranging them into a seamless timeline. In a social media post, Paliwal introduced Iris, highlighting its potential to offer users what he calls an “infinite memory” of their life.
Iris comes with a unique feature called focus mode, designed to combat distractions. The device can recognize when users lose focus and prompts them to refocus on their task. Paliwal demonstrated this feature through visuals where the device gently nudges the wearer to stay on track, making it an ideal tool for maintaining concentration in today’s fast-paced environment.
Explaining how Iris operates, Paliwal elaborated that the device creates a gallery of photos, organized chronologically, allowing users to recall moments they might have otherwise forgotten. This AI tool also answers questions based on the collected memories, offering an innovative way to preserve and reflect on life events.
Additionally, Iris’s design draws inspiration from the ‘evil eye,’ a protective symbol prevalent in various cultures, particularly in Latin America and Asia. Paliwal envisioned a modern take on the symbol, with the round design of Iris symbolizing protection, and the camera placed centrally to represent its watchful nature. This unique combination of technology and cultural symbolism makes Iris not only functional but also meaningful.
