Indian American filmmaker Mukesh Modi recently hosted a press conference at the Metropolitan Restaurant in Glen Cove, Long Island, New York, to introduce his latest film, ‘Political War.’ The event attracted members of the Indian American community.
‘Political War’ delves into the intricate world of politics, portraying the lengths politicians go to in their quest for power amidst deception, fear-mongering, and the proliferation of fake news. The film stars Prashant Narayan, Seema Biswas, Rituparna Sengupta, and other talented actors.
Despite facing hurdles, including a lack of clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification in India (CBFC), which precludes its release in cinemas there, the filmmakers recently announced its global release.
During the conference, Modi underscored the film’s objective, emphasizing the importance of exposing external forces aiming to undermine India with the assistance of opportunistic leaders.
Banker and television anchor Vibhuti Jha highlighted the film’s relevance, urging the American Indian community to actively participate in their social and political environments. Entrepreneur Mohan Wanchoo expressed disappointment over the Indian Censor Board’s refusal to grant screening rights but stressed the film’s timeliness.
Vimal Goyal, president of the India Day Parade of Long Island, and Pradip Tandon of the India Association of Long Island called upon the Indian government to enable all citizens to view the film and assess its authenticity.
Apart from ‘Political War,’ Modi has produced ‘Torn,’ a psychological thriller featuring Alfonso Freeman, son of renowned actor Morgan Freeman. His portfolio also includes works like ‘The Elevator’ and ‘Bride of Zambai.’
