Among the most prominent is Vinod Khosla, founder of Khosla Ventures and co-founder of Sun Microsystems, who has amassed $7.5 billion through decades of innovation in Silicon Valley, particularly in AI and green tech. Jay Chaudhry, CEO of cloud security firm Zscaler, appears on the list with a net worth of $8.3 billion. Born in a small Indian village, Chaudhry’s rise to prominence reflects the entrepreneurial spirit shaping the modern tech world.
Other Indian American billionaires include Jayshree Ullal of Arista Networks ($4.5 billion), Romesh Wadhwani of Symphony Technology Group ($5 billion), Rakesh Gangwal of IndiGo Airlines ($4+ billion), and Aneel Bhusri of Workday ($3.3 billion).
Globally, Elon Musk tops the list with $433.9 billion, followed by Amazon’s Jeff Bezos ($239.4 billion) and Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg ($211.8 billion). This year marks a milestone with 3,028 billionaires—247 more than last year—collectively worth $16.1 trillion, a record high. The average billionaire net worth also rose to $5.3 billion, reflecting a $200 million increase over 2024.
