G20 Sherpa, Mr. Amitabh Kant, highlighted India’s opportunity to revamp its economic strategy and lead the way as the first nation to industrialize without carbon emissions, capitalizing on favorable weather conditions. Speaking at an event in the nation’s capital, he expressed confidence in India’s potential for faster growth, given its youthful population and open global opportunities.
Emphasizing the importance of embracing eco-friendliness, Mr. Kant stressed that countries must adopt green practices to remain competitive in the global market, and this transformation is expected to unfold within the next five years.
At the SHRM India Annual Conference 2023, he proposed that India’s ideal weather conditions make it feasible to redefine its growth model and aspire to be the world’s first nation to industrialize without carbon emissions. During a discussion about his book ‘Made in India: 75 Years of Business and Enterprise,’ Mr. Kant pointed out that India stands out with its young population, with an average age of 28 years.
He underlined his belief that India, having experienced high growth rates, should persist on this trajectory.
