The Hindu Mandir Empowerment Council (HMEC) is set to organize its upcoming Priests’ Conference at the Jain Center of Southern California, located in Buena Park, California. The event is expected to serve as a major gathering point for Hindu religious and community leaders across the United States, reinforcing collaboration among temples and related institutions.
The conference will bring together a wide network of religious organizations, including approximately 25 host and co-host temples and representatives from nearly 175 temples. In total, around 250 temple executives and nearly 80 speakers are expected to participate, contributing insights across 45 different topics focused on strengthening temple administration, community engagement and spiritual leadership.
A key theme of the conference will be the evolving role of temples as community centers that support youth development and family engagement. Discussions are expected to highlight how mandirs can serve not only as places of worship but also as cultural and social hubs that address the needs of younger generations while preserving traditional values.
The Hindu Mandir Empowerment Council envisions creating a strong, interconnected network of Hindu mandirs, temples, ashrams, gurudwaras, derasars and other spiritual organizations. This network aims to preserve, protect and promote dharma while ensuring that temple leadership structures remain strong, sustainable and capable of adapting across generations.
HMEC’s broader mission is to support the American Hindu community by strengthening its institutional foundation and encouraging the sharing of best practices among religious organizations. Through this collaborative approach, the council seeks to enhance leadership development, improve organizational efficiency and promote unity among diverse spiritual traditions.
By bringing together a wide range of leaders and institutions, the conference aims to reinforce cultural continuity and collective growth, ensuring that temples continue to play a vital role in guiding, educating and supporting communities throughout the United States.
