For Dhruvi Bhatt, being the first in her family to pursue a graduate degree meant choosing a university was not just a decision—it was a milestone. After earning a double bachelor’s degree in English literature and language education in India, she began researching master’s programs in the U.S. with a focus on cybersecurity and information systems—fields she found both exciting and intimidating.
A turning point came when a friend at Walmart’s corporate office in Bentonville suggested the University of Arkansas. Intrigued by the Walton College of Business’s reputation and its close ties to major corporations like Walmart, Dhruvi took a deeper look at what the school had to offer. She was impressed by the curriculum’s practical design, with its clear focus on equipping students for industry challenges.
Although moving from Gaithersburg, Maryland, to Fayetteville, Arkansas, was a big change, Dhruvi quickly felt at home. She credits the university’s vibrant, multicultural atmosphere and supportive faculty in the Information Systems Department for easing her transition. Her academic journey was marked by long study sessions, collaborative projects, and strong friendships.
A standout experience for her was participating in the Hogs Abroad program in Ireland. There, she visited companies like SAP, Teeling Whiskey, and Ernst & Young, gaining valuable insight into international business operations. Dhruvi describes this global exposure as one of the most enriching aspects of her studies.
She graduated in May 2024 with a master’s in information systems, specializing in cybersecurity. Soon after, she secured a role as a data analyst at Kenvue, a consumer health company based in New Jersey. Looking ahead, Dhruvi is eager to explore advanced data analytics, artificial intelligence, and strategic decision-making in her professional path.
Reflecting on her time at the University of Arkansas, Dhruvi calls it a life-changing chapter filled with growth—intellectually, socially, and personally. The challenges she overcame helped shape her into the person she is today.
No matter where her career takes her next, Dhruvi says she’ll always carry her Razorback pride with her: “The University of Arkansas will always have a special place in my heart. Go Hogs!”
