Fans of the Dhamaal franchise will soon be able to enjoy its latest installment from home, as Dhamaal 4 is set to make its streaming debut on Netflix. The Ajay Devgn-led comedy will begin streaming on September 4, following its theatrical release earlier this year.
Directed by Indra Kumar, Dhamaal 4 reached theaters on July 10 and spent roughly eight weeks on the big screen. Although the movie received a mixed response from critics and audiences, it managed to deliver a strong commercial performance and became the most successful film in the franchise in terms of box-office earnings.
The move to streaming gives viewers who missed the theatrical release another opportunity to experience the film’s combination of slapstick humor, mistaken situations and an elaborate treasure hunt.
The latest chapter brings together a large ensemble cast featuring Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi and Jaaved Jaaferi, along with Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra and Upendra Limaye. Anjali Anand, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Esha Gupta and Vijay Patkar also appear in supporting roles.
The story revolves around Guddu, portrayed by Devgn, and Johnny, played by Sanjay Mishra. The pair operates an antique shop before finding themselves caught up in an unexpected search for a hidden fortune.
Their pursuit becomes increasingly complicated after they learn that Prithvi, played by Upendra Limaye, holds important information about the treasure. Before Guddu and Johnny can capitalize on that knowledge, however, Prithvi is abducted by Adhoora, an incompetent pirate portrayed by Ravi Kishan.
What follows is another chain of chaotic encounters as the characters race to uncover the fortune while dealing with unpredictable obstacles along the way. The film continues the franchise’s established style of exaggerated comedy and ensemble-driven confusion, while introducing a new treasure-hunting storyline.
With its theatrical run now behind it, Dhamaal 4 is shifting its focus to the digital audience. Netflix subscribers will soon be able to watch the multi-star comedy without heading to a theater.
The film’s arrival on the streaming platform could also help it reach viewers who remained undecided during its theatrical release or preferred to wait for its OTT premiere.
As the fourth chapter of a long-running comedy series, Dhamaal 4 carries forward the franchise’s familiar mix of adventure and humor while bringing together several recognizable Bollywood performers for another race involving secrets, treasure and plenty of confusion.
