Apple’s first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, officially reached Indian stores on Friday, October 23, drawing substantial crowds to the company’s outlet at Select CITYWALK Mall in Delhi’s Saket neighborhood. The launch generated considerable customer interest, with prices ranging from approximately $3,600 to $5,400, depending on the storage configuration.
The iPhone Duo represents Apple’s entry into the foldable smartphone category. Its design incorporates a 7.6-inch flexible internal display that folds into a more compact device featuring a 5.4-inch external screen. Other specifications include Apple’s A20 Pro processor, a 48-megapixel Dual Fusion camera system, and a titanium frame.
In India, the smartphone is available in four storage options. The 256GB model costs approximately $3,600, the 512GB version is priced at $3,900, the 1TB variant costs around $4,500, and the top-tier 2TB model is priced at approximately $5,400. These dollar figures are rounded conversions of the original rupee prices.
An early buyer praised the device’s interface, technical capabilities, and multitasking experience. He highlighted the ability to run two different tasks simultaneously on the same screen as a particularly useful feature. Although he felt the camera might be less powerful than the iPhone 18 Pro Max, he expressed an overall positive impression.
The customer also predicted that younger consumers would embrace the device, although he acknowledged that its high price could influence purchasing decisions. He bought the 512GB version for approximately $3,900.
He further recommended purchasing a protection plan, explaining that coverage could help with screen replacement if the foldable display sustained damage. However, he noted that the plan would add to the already substantial purchase cost.
With its innovative folding design, expanded multitasking options, and premium pricing, the iPhone Duo marks a new chapter in Apple’s presence in India’s smartphone market.
