An Indian all-party parliamentary delegation led by BJP MP Baijayant Jay Panda has reaffirmed India’s uncompromising stance against terrorism during a visit to Saudi Arabia. The group visited the Gulf Research Centre, where they held detailed discussions on India’s zero-tolerance policy, especially in light of Operation Sindoor, and explored avenues to deepen security and defence cooperation between the two nations.
Welcomed by Chairman Abdulaziz Sager, the delegation discussed enhancing strategic ties and maintaining regional peace through shared efforts in counter-terrorism. Panda noted on social media platform X that both countries are committed to strengthening their partnership across security, defence, and global affairs, united by a shared resolve to eliminate terrorism.
The delegation also met President Abdulmajeed Albanyan of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences, reiterating India’s strong opposition to cross-border terrorism and seeking collaboration in security education and research.
In addition, interactions with Saudi civil society, including members from the government, think tanks, business, and media, provided a platform for India to share its strategic outlook and present Operation Sindoor as a symbol of its growing humanitarian and security leadership.
Other prominent members of the delegation included BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey, Phangnon Konyak, Rekha Sharma, AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi, former J&K CM Ghulam Nabi Azad, and ex-diplomat Harsh Vardhan Shringla. BJP MP Satnam Singh Sandhu underscored the importance of united efforts for a secure and prosperous regional environment.
During a meeting with Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Bin Ahmed al-Jubeir, delegates echoed Prime Minister Modi’s assertion that “this is not the era of war, nor of terrorism.” India thanked Saudi Arabia for its unequivocal condemnation of the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, and stressed the need to dismantle terror infrastructure, deny safe havens and funding, and end political legitimisation of such acts.
The delegation held talks with the Shura Council, where Deputy Speaker Mishaal Al-Sulami and Chair Abdulrahman Alharbi reaffirmed support and solidarity with India. The delegation expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s continued support in India’s fight against terrorism.
Later, in a meeting with Mushabab bin Ayed Al-Qahtani, Director General of the Prince Saud Al-Faisal Institute for Diplomatic Studies, the focus remained on India’s evolving counter-terrorism strategy. Across all forums, India acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s steadfast backing in its de-radicalisation and anti-extremism mission.
A dinner hosted by the Indian Embassy in Riyadh brought together dignitaries from Saudi civil society, offering a broader platform to discuss not only counter-terrorism strategies but also ways to deepen the India-Saudi bilateral partnership.
