United States President Joe Biden has appointed Nimish Patel to the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations. Patel, who currently chairs the Corporate and Securities Department at Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp, LLP, boasts a diverse career spanning artificial intelligence, life sciences, technology, e-commerce, new media, and entertainment sectors. Additionally, Patel offers advisory services to both private and publicly traded companies, aiding in governance and regulatory compliance.
With prior experience as a CPA and senior auditor at Deloitte, Patel brings expertise in mergers and acquisitions, venture capital financing, and corporate restructuring. Beyond his professional endeavors, he has been actively involved in organizations such as the American India Foundation and the South Asian Bar Association of Southern California. Patel’s academic history comprises an MBA from the University of San Diego and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California.
As a member of the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations, Patel will provide counsel to the US Trade Representative on a range of issues including negotiating objectives, trade agreement positions, and policy implementation. The committee, composed of up to 45 members recommended by the US Trade Representative, encompasses a diverse array of expertise in trade, investment, and development, reflecting the multifaceted nature of US trade policy.
