Sachin H. Jain, the Indian American CEO of the SCAN Group and SCAN Health Plan, has achieved recognition as one of the 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare for 2023 by Modern Healthcare. This esteemed acknowledgment reflects Jain’s exceptional leadership and impact within the healthcare industry, according to Modern Healthcare’s distinguished recognition program.

With over a decade of experience as a healthcare pioneer, champion, and authority, Jain has consistently advocated for “radical common sense” changes to enhance patient care in the American healthcare system, as stated by SCAN in a released statement.
As the CEO of SCAN, Jain has spearheaded innovative programs, products, and initiatives aimed at not only improving the healthcare journey for older Americans but also prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization. Leveraging his early career experiences in home healthcare, Jain founded Healthcare in Action (HIA) in 2022—a unique street-based medical organization providing managed care-based treatment to the homeless. HIA, backed by influential figures, has gained national recognition, offering services to over 1,000 patients across six counties in Northern and Southern California.
In 2023, SCAN Affirm (HMO), the industry’s first Medicare Advantage plan tailored for LGBTQ+ older individuals, was launched, boasting an impressive 700 participants in its inaugural year in California’s Los Angeles, Riverside, and Orange Counties. Jain’s commitment to diversity is reflected in SCAN’s executive team, featuring 58 percent ethnic diversity and 55 percent gender diversity. SCAN Health Plan, under his leadership, secured the top spot in overall customer happiness among Medicare Advantage plans in California, according to the JD Power 2023 U.S. Medicare Advantage Happiness Study.
