Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, a prominent badminton player from India, has achieved an impressive milestone in the world of badminton. He recently entered the Guinness World Records for delivering the fastest smash hit ever recorded by a male badminton player.
Satwik’s powerful smash reached an astounding speed of 565 km/h, surpassing the previous record held by Malaysia’s Tan Boon Heong, which was 493 km/h and had been in place since May 2013.
This remarkable accomplishment places Satwik among the elite global league of top badminton players, as his smash speed even exceeds that of a Formula 1 car, which has a top speed of 372.6 km/h.
In the female category, Malaysia’s Tan Pearly holds the Guinness World Record for the fastest smash hit by a female badminton player, with a speed of 438 km/h.
Yonex, the Japanese sports equipment manufacturing company, proudly announced that their badminton athletes, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy from India and Tan Pearly from Malaysia, have set new Guinness World Records titles for the fastest male and female badminton hits, respectively.
