The Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan (BAPS) Temple in Abu Dhabi has announced it will remain closed until further notice due to the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, which now involves the United States. On March 2, the temple confirmed that its priests are continuing to offer prayers for the safety and well-being of all individuals. A temple statement said, “While the BAPS Hindu Mandir remains temporarily closed to visitors, the Swamis continue special prayers within the sanctums. In these spiritual moments, their devotion carries hopes for peace, protection, and the welfare of all.”
The announcement emphasizes the importance of public safety, urging residents to remain calm, avoid rumors, stay indoors, and follow official instructions while engaging in personal prayers. The guidance calls for unity, faith, and responsibility during these tense times.
The closure comes as the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defence confirmed that its air defense systems are addressing ongoing missile threats across the country amid heightened regional hostilities. Authorities reported that the loud explosions heard in several areas were caused by interception of ballistic missiles and engagement of drones and loitering munitions by fighter jets. Residents and travelers have been strongly advised to remain in secure locations and follow official channels for real-time updates.
The BAPS Temple’s temporary closure reflects a broader effort to prioritize safety while continuing spiritual practices in the face of global tensions, with prayers focused on peace, protection, and community well-being.
